Do you ever get to the end of a week, and feel like you're totally out of breath? Like you've been running a marathon and you finally crossed the finish line. That's what today feels like. It's just been a wild week, and when everyone is at home all the time, it can get a little overwhelming, especially for our little ones. So we decided to make this afternoon and evening all about family and something that tickles us all - fall.
Currently, my little ladies and lad are taking much needed naps; the curtains are drawn making our house dim and cozy, the pumpkins are lit, more Gilmore Girls are playing while I type this post; there's a coffee cake baking in the oven; and apple cider is simmering on the stovetop. It's nice and perfect. And when our babies are up, we'll be enjoying the coffee cake + cider while we put together our new fall puzzle. Then for dinner we're keeping it simple with pizza, which we'll follow up with a movie night (I wish the girls were interested in You've Got Mail).
Sometimes, it's important to hit pause and do the things that cultivate joy and happiness. More so now when the world is all upside down and we're navigating our new normal. It's filling our empty tanks back up.
Here's how we're kicking off our weekend....
- That delicious coffee cake is far from homemade, but it's a huge hit in our house and we really love it.
- We absolutely adore Charles Wysocki puzzles, and have a budding collection. We picked out a new fall one for today.
- You can never have too many blankets, friends. And I think this is the perfect one for year round!
- I ordered this sweater yesterday, and I'm really excited for it to get here. Even if I'm at home 98% of the time, there's no reason not to be cute and cozy!
- Speaking of cozy things, can you ever really have too many sweatshirts??
I hope you find something to fill your tank this weekend! May it be a great one! xo
