Just when I think a month couldn't be sweeter or more of my favorite, a new one comes upon us. Greer turned seven months young on July 21, and in less than a week my sweet girl will be eight months. Time is flying faster than I ever could have imagined. Each new day brings out something new and different. Greer is changing so quickly, her personality absolutely blossoming. She's stolen are hearts over and over again. I mean, have you seen that sweet profile and those cheeks?!
At this stage it's been all about curiosity and discovery. Greer is captivated by the world around her, and anything she can get into her dimpled hands she will. She's very textile at the moment, and exploring is her very favorite thing. Her excitement for all the new things is simply magical. She lights up at everything, which in turn makes me light up. Greer's innocence has been such a gift to me; seeing life through her eyes is really quite wonderful.

Greer can't get enough of solid foods. She loves it, especially foods that are mixed, like the pumpkin/apple/granola combo. She eats anywhere between 1 to 1.5 jars of baby food a day. She'll eat once late morning, and then again at dinner time (5 PM for her). She's still nursing, but distractions have become a huge component, making it a bit more challenging. She nurses best in absolute quiet with no one else around. Greer understands and responds to the sign for milk. She's still on a similar eating schedule as she was last month:
During this month her eating schedule has looked like this:
wake-up: nurse
late morning: a little bit of fruit || 2ish oz; topped off with milk
mid-afternoon: nurse
evening: vegetables || 2-4ish oz; topped off with milk
right before bed: nurse

Sleep has been good for the most part, but teething has certainly thrown a kink into some nights, causing more stirring. Bedtime remains the same, between 7-8 PM. She'll wake anywhere from 4-6 AM in the morning. If she's up from 4-5, she'll nurse and go back to sleep. If she's up at 6, she'll nurse and be ready to start her day.
Naps are slowly finding some consistency. We're still in the stage of napping only 30 minutes in her crib, and longer if she's being held. To balance it, I will nap her 2 out of 3 times in her crib, and hold her for one nap to ensure she gets quality rest during the day. Like always, she thrives on a schedule, and naps are so important to her happiness and overall well-being.

Greer still loves being played with, preferring it to playing solo. She's now sitting up on her own, but not unassisted as she'll forget that she's sitting sometimes and topple right over. We use pillow stacked up behind her to catch those falls. She has learned to roll in both directions, but still isn't rolling from front to back. She has on occasion, but by total accident and it doesn't stick. She usually does this at night while sleeping.
Bouncing is still a favorite. If asked if she wants to bounce she lights up. She loves standing more than anything, and she has figured out how to bridge her body in resistance to sitting down. She enjoys tummy time more now, but becomes easily frustrated when she is ready to get off of her belly.
She loves playing with her blocks and anything that makes a crackling noise. Everything she can get her hands on she wants to put straight into her mouth. She wants mama's cell phone all the time, but to no avail.
