How was I just welcoming the weekend in, and now I'm ushering it out?! I tell you, Saturday and Sunday need to learn to slow down. Regardless of how quickly it flew, it was a good weekend. I kicked Friday off in my happy pants, because when you're on the verge of the weekend's start, what else would you wear?!
Husband and I spent Friday evening running some errands and prepping for a relaxing two days, ordering Mexican cuisine for take-out (and picnicking in the living room), and putting together our just-delivered headboard/platform for our new king bed (hello, all that space!). We made sure to snuggle extra long the next morning in our extra big bed.
Saturday morning started out slow and easy with homemade lemon poppyseed french toast, bacon, and mimosas. By mid-morning we'd moved onto the living room and some magazine reading and latte sipping. While husband worked on homework I did the important things...like painting my nails. One of my favorite parts of Saturday was twinning with husband in our new favorite baseball tees.By the end of Saturday night, husband I were planning out our gallery wall for the dining room! I can't wait to share the reveal!
Sunday started out like it almost always does...us getting out of bed late (it's just too easy to hit the snooze button) and scrambling to get to church on time. This Sunday was the first that I could get through singing all of the songs without feeling remotely choked up about how true the lyrics are for me. But, there was one song that really struck a chord with me. "He's Always Been Faithful" was just what I needed to hear. I love that the Lord knows what we need, and in the simplest ways He reveals himself. Needless to say the song was hummed for a majority of the afternoon. Besides the humming, the rest of the day was spent lounging in the sunshine, grilling out, and enjoying time with our House Group.
I'd say the weekend was a success. I'd also say that a rewind button would be nice. But, since I don't think that's an option, I'll just reminisce with some photos.
And I wanted to leave you with the lyrics that made me feel so comforted yesterday. I hope you have a really beautiful week, friends!
I can't remember a trial or a pain
He did not recycle to bring me gain
I can't remember one single regret
In serving God only, and trusting His hand
All I have need of, His hand will provide
He's always been faithful to me
