St. Patty's Day Décor

March 11, 2015

Typically I don't decorate for St. Patty's Day. But this year I decided why not? It would be a creative outlet, a way to bring some cheer to our home, and perfect for our first Supper Club this weekend (which is St. Patty's themed). So I went for it and husband gladly went along with all my ideas.

Deciding at the last minute to do some shamrock sprucing actually worked out really well. I found all of the décor at Michaels on Sunday and it was all 50% off (with an additional 15% off that). That's a win in my book.

I'm a girl of subtle décor touches, so I went for simplicity. Using picks I was able to add some green to my succulent box, along with my mercury glass jars (see a bit below).

I can never recommend cloches and apothecary jars enough. They're beautiful and work so well with seasonal and holiday decorations. This cloche and its base were found at Michaels.

And who doesn't love mason jars? Michaels also had a selection of mason jars in a handful of colors. I went for white so that I could use them year round for all occasions.

I'm a sucker for holiday straws, so when I saw these shamrock straws I couldn't deny myself. Into the cart they went. And I'm really excited to use them in a festive drink this weekend.

This shamrock garland takes me back to my elementary school days. So I saw it and knew that I would incorporate it somehow. Turned into the perfect tabletop garland in the dining room.

Just as I did for Valentine's décor, I incorporated my boxwood wreaths. Using foam shamrocks and some green baker's twine, I added a bit of St. Patty's Day to the doors in the dining room.

I've had big ideas for Easter garland this year, but since it's not quite time to bring the eggs out I used the vine garland to hold foam shamrocks. I love the simple look and the nice addition it brings to the other decorations. I hung one in our dining room over the sliding glass door and the other in the family room above the fireplace. Come back in a couple of weeks to see how I transform it for Easter!

So what do you do for St. Patrick's Day?? Maybe you don't decorate, but just maybe this will inspire you to find a little way to do some sprucing! I know I have loved the extra green this week!
