Gallery Walls Are Made Of These

January 13, 2015

Have you ever noticed a prominent feature in my family room, my gallery wall? For the longest time, it's been a work in progess. I have rearranged frames, refilled photos, and added to it for a year now. I'm still looking for the perfect, small, oval frame to add, and now that there is a console table standing just below, I may widen the gallery wall. and expand on it. I just haven't decided yet.

That's one reason why I love a gallery wall, it's not permanent. In fact it's rather flexible and can really tell a story. I've mixed photos with text prints, and even some pattern. See that gold striped pattern in the frame on the far right?? Yeah, that's wrapping paper. I saw it and knew that it would make the perfect fit. Because I haven't decided if I want to draw on it or not, it's been there in that frame, blank for months. But, it works. In my eyes, gallery walls may never be complete. There's always room to add on. In fact, I'm about to order some of the family photos we took in the fall.

I love my gallery wall SO much that I have decided my dining room area needs one too. So I've been searching high and low for prints I love. The more texture the better! In this space I'm planning to go with food inspired pieces as well as text pieces, and bright colors using water color as the medium. These succulents would be perfect. Not only do we love succulents, and have several around our house, but they're complementary to the colors already in our dining room.

I'm also going to be putting a couple, or three, larger frames in my bedroom. And I'm thinking floral prints are the perfect piece of art for this particular purpose. I'm leaning toward the floral art you see above; Minted really has a great selection of pieces to pick from. And I swoon over Rifle Paper Co. art. The lower two will go with the color scheme in our room, and will add a nice pop of bright color. The top three would also go well and add some extra color. What do you think?

I've been pining some of my favorites. And when the time feels right, I'll make a purchase. I've got to decide on the frame sizes and the frame shapes/colors. Then I'll be ready. For now I'm scheming about the final product. Take a look at the prints I've pinned, and please share where you find some of your favorite prints! The more the merrier!
