I can't believe it, but I am
actually here!
Really, truly, finally here. I'm starting my stint as a Maryland resident, and I must say it feels pretty darn good. I arrived Friday evening, after original plans for a Thursday arrival were delayed due to Winter Storm Iago (pictures below). Starting a new chapter in Maryland has been bittersweet and thrilling all at the same time. It's sad to leave my family, but it's so exciting to begin my adult life with the man I will be spending it all with. It's scary too because for the first time in my life nothing is planned. But, I have come to find that some of the best things in life aren't planned...like my new apartment decor...but at least it's an excuse to experiment and use what I already have. The first place I am starting is in the family room where I am battling a wanna-be red (because it's a few shades lighter) accent wall. With 10- foot ceilings the walls in this place
need adornment and I'm happy to do so, beginning with that almost-red wall.

^^The sky darkened and the snow came down in sheets. It didn't take any time for the ground to disappear under white fluff.^^ |

My view of the downfall wasn't too shabby. |
|
After a night of no power and way of seeing the snow's continual effect on the landscape, the sight in the morning was remarkable! |

8 solid inches on the rail |

A bit weighed down... |
|
You can't deny how magical it all looked...even if it did delay me from getting to Pete on time. |
|
I finally made it though, and this wall finally got some sass. |
|
The table needed some pizzaz too! |
