...well, I already have my two front teeth. So this year all I really want is just to be with Pete. Sixteen years ago I would have wanted Barbie dolls and their accessories, babies that cry and laugh, and a child-size plastic kitchen and the plastic dishes to match. Isn't it funny how the things we put on our Christmas lists change as we get older? With my twenty-third Christmas approaching, I am no longer interested in the material things that Christmas can bring, but the sentimental experiences that cannot be replaced. I have learned more than ever how much I appreciate and value my time with Pete. And with the holiday season in full swing, I miss being together and working on Christmas projects, watching holiday movies, baking, etc. As I think back on my childhood Christmases I think how, every one since, has been a little bit different in one way or another. After this Christmas many things will be different in the best kinds of ways. Next year when December comes around Pete and I will be married, decorating our place, and starting our traditions as we incorporate families' and our own. Have I mentioned how excited I am for that?!
